U.S. HistoryPrerequisites: None. This course will cover the absorbing story of our nation's past and present. From integrating multi-cultural perspectives with geographic, constitutional, religious, and economic themes. Justice of the LawPrerequisites: None. This course will cover law that will be of practical use to students in their every day lives. The book, Street Law, will be used, and is designed to provide the student with an understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities, and knowledge of everyday legal problems, and the ability to analyze, evaluate and in some situations, resolve legal disputes. PsychologyPrerequisites: None. This is a study of human behavior, family, and group influences on individuals, behavior, disorder, learning an conditioning. SociologyPrerequisites: None. This study of human relationships shows how and why man reacts with different groups such as religious, family, minority and peer groups. P.D.P. (Present Day Problems)Prerequisites: None. An in depth study of marriage with emphasis on values, goals, mate selection, and parenthood. The second nine weeks will emphasize modern problems and issues confronting society including current events. GeographyPrerequisites: None. This class deals with the organized knowledge of the distribution of phenomena on the earth's surface. It also will go into the study of continents, states, and their capitals. American GovernmentPrerequisites: None. To provide students with an understanding of how our democratic process works. Emphasis will be placed on the federal, state and local forms of government. Included will be the Constitution and the functions of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. |
