Physical Education

Required for Freshman and Sophomores. Juniors and Senior selective. Credit 1/2;
Prerequisites: None

All P.E. classes emphasize physical fitness, with strenuous warm-up prior to the start of the class activity. The majority of the Freshman and Sophomore P.E. class is conducted around team sports, with some individual sports being presented during the semester. The Junior and Senior P.E. class revolve around "lifetime" sports such as: Bowling, Golf, Tennis, and "lifetime" team sports such as volleyball and softball. All students will learn C.P.R. in P.E.

Health 1

Available to Freshman through Seniors, Credit 1/2;
Prerequisites: None.

Through the use of selected materials students will learn that total health includes all of a person physical, emotional, mental and social growth, development and well-being and that these areas are interdependent of each other. They will understand that every individual is valuable and appreciate that health is a right and responsibility of every individual and community.
